There are trees planted down my street and surrounding the base of the trees are these metal grates. I like the design of the grates as well as the texture of the metal itself from being weathered in the outdoors.

These are dandiya sticks. They are used in a dance that comes from India. (Read more on the wikipedia page.) I got these at a family wedding I went to last year.

This week, I’ve been watching Shadow (Wilk’s dog). I like the way this picture turned out. I think Shadow’s dark fur in contrast with the bright light and the bright background end up making a cool effect.

Cody and I went to John Howie for dinner (this time we used Cody’s groupon). I don’t think there needs to be anything else said here. I mean there’s Beecher’s mac’n’cheese, sauteed spinich, and steak… with cheese on it. Though, the steak with cheese is what Cody got. I got some very pepper-y steak (not pictured).

I thought the bag that I made needed a little something. So I made this felt flower and sewed it onto the bag. I think it helped. :)

This is chocolate that Kerry got for me for my birthday. It’s from the chocolate place in Fremont. I haven’t been able to eaten it yet though.

This is a box that a friend from college, Olga, brought back for me from Russia. It was sitting on my bookshelf , but I placed it on a lighter piece of paper to add some brightness and contrast to the image.

I found something in my apartment that I hadn’t taken a picture of yet! It’s the tassel from graduation.

I only buy a new pair of everyday shoes when I absolutely need them… The last time I bought casual, everyday shoes was 3+ years ago. They finally are wearing out. The padding in the shoes is almost gone. The sole is starting to come off… It’s really about time…

These are my new shoes! I’m so excited about finding casual flats. I decided on this picture for the picture of the day because it’s not a normal angle used to take pictures of shoes – but I feel like you see enough of the shoes to know what they look like.
