Also in September, I decided to take a trip to the Kubota Gardens. This is a Japanese Garden south of Seattle. It’s waaaaaay bigger than the Japanese Garden at the Arboretum by Lake Washington. I heard about these gardens from my Tae Kwon Do class, we were thinking about having an outdoor class there. When we didn’t, I decided to check it out on my own. It was created back in the 1920s and has stuck around since and it’s really beautiful. I have a few pictures here, but for the rest, see my flickr page.

I’ve been reading about this short hike down I-90. It’s only a 2 mile hike (roundtrip), but it’s supposed to be very beautiful. Since the weather was still decent in September, I got some friends together to go check it out. It ends at this waterfall, called Franklin Falls, but the whole hike takes place next to Denny Creek, so there are beautiful views and the entire time. It’s recommended that one waits until after Labor Day to go, and that’s what we did. But I think it wasn’t long enough, I thought the trail was still a little crowded. I posted a few pictures here, but for the rest check out my flickr page.
