Alvin, Mark, and I went down to Portland for a weekend in June to eat food. :) We started out with all the food trucks they have in Portland. After eating a bunch of food, we took a food coma nap at the hotel and then went out for dinner.

For dinner, we went to Castagna which was listed as one of the top 100 restaurants in the US by “Opinionated about Dining” for a few years now. We decided to try to their chef’s tasting menu, which was 8 courses plus snacks, and a few palette cleansers. I thought it was delicious and we got to try a bunch of different food preparations styles, for example, there was an onion mousse which was one of my favorite dishes of the night. It may not sound appetizer, but it was really good.

The next day, I had to stop at Moonstruck, like I always do when I’m in Portland. And for the rest of my breakfast, I went back to the waffle food truck, for something called “the Breakfast of Champions”.

After that, we stopped by Portland’s Pride Parade, the Portland Saturday Market, and then got a some more food truck food for lunch, and then on our way out of town, we stopped at the Portland Japanese Garden – which has been called the “most authentic Japanese garden outside of Japan”.
